Job Description

A friendly community bowls club, located in Sunbury, offering a bistro menu for lunch and dinner and on occasions catering for events in their function room, currently have a exciting position for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentice to join their team.

As an apprentice you will continue to use food preparation equipment, produce dishes using methods of cookery, use hygienic practices for food safety and help to plan and design basic menus. 

Duties on the job will involve manning the fryer and grill station, pastas, salads, as well as other jobs to be delegated such as maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.

You will also continue working towards completing a national recognised qualification in Certificate III Commercial Cookery.

Hours are generally 25 - 30hrs per week including evenings, weeks and spilt shifts may be required.

To be considered for this position, you must have completed at least 12mths of Commercial Cookery apprenticeship, have a car and licence, be punctual, well presented, energetic and safety conscious.  You must also have a genuine passion for the food industry.  Junior candidates encouraged to apply.
